On Tuesdays, come and explore the Curiosity Corner (a hands - on discovery area sponsored by the Friends of the New London Public Museum) between 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Discover more about our environment and how we can protect it!  Free Admission, no registration is needed.

Now through Monday, Apr. 16th, the New London Lions Club is holding their 2018 annual rose sale.  Rose delivery date is Friday, April 27th.  Support the club and delight a coworker or loved one at the same time.  The Think Spring Rose Sale is one of the largest fundraisers of the year for the New London Lions Club.  Proceeds from this rose sale and other fundraisers go towards local community projects.  The cost for one dozen roses is $15, which includes delivery in the New London area by one of our Lions Club members.  Roses can be ordered from any Lions Club member.  There are posters with mail-in forms displayed at various businesses in New London.  You may also order by calling (920) 878-0077 and asking for “Lion Roses”.

On Wednesday, Apr. 11th, Mosquito Hill Nature Center will be holding a Fox Valley Memory Café from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m.  The Fox Valley Memory Cafés welcome those experiencing early stage dementia, mild memory loss or cognitive impairment, as well as family and friends of those affected. It’s a great opportunity for lively discussions, information gathering, refreshments, and lots of creative fun thrown in. A fun time for all, you are invited to enjoy the camaraderie and the beautiful Wolf River in New London. The weekend features musical entertainment, a food tent with the popular “Buffalo Burgers”, as well as hamburgers, hot dogs, beer, and soda. The Grand Raffle will have thousands of dollars of great prizes and features an ATV winch and trailer package. Grant portrays a reformed jewel thief suspected of returning to his former occupation. While Grace Kelly plays a wealthy American tourist visiting the French Riviera with her mother. This was Hitchcock's final film with Grace Kelly.

On Saturday, Apr. 28th, join the New London United Methodist Church and Mission of Hope House at the New London High School Commons for a poverty simulation from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.  The poverty simulation is designed to help individuals increase their awareness of the situations and decisions low-income households experience.  In the simulation, participants are assigned a role in a family unit and interact with community resources stationed around the room to find or maintain employment, buy groceries, seek social services and pay bills.  Profession services from CAP Services leads the experience and facilitates a debriefing period in which participants can share their insights about what they have learned. On Saturday, Apr. 28th, First State Bank is pleased to present the 8th Annual Sturgeon Shuffle 10k run / 5k run / walk.  First State Bank is pleased to take the baton from ThedaCare Foundation – New London as organizer and lead sponsor of this event in 2018. We’re working closely with our dedicated volunteer committee to assure the Sturgeon shuffle continues to grow and be enjoyed throughout the region.  For the last seven years, this fun family-friendly event has promoted and supported health and wellbeing in our communities. It is designed for the skilled runner as well as the everyday walker. Our goal is simple: promote healthy communities—one step at a time. We also look forward to welcoming participants of all ages from across our region to enjoy one of the natural wonders of our world – the Sturgeon run!  In keeping with the mission of supporting health and wellbeing in our communities, all proceeds raised from this year’s Sturgeon Shuffle will be used to support Project Backpack organizations in and around the communities served by First State Bank.
