On Tuesdays, come and explore the Curiosity Corner (a hands - on discovery area sponsored by the Friends of the New London Public Museum) between 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Discover more about our environment and how we can protect it!  Free Admission, no registration is needed.

Now through Wednesday, Dec. 6th, Plach Automotive is holding their 5th Annual Fill the Truck Toy Drive.  Drop off new, unwrapped toys – cash donations are also welcome and used to purchase additional toys.  All toys are kept local and distributed to children in the New London School District through the New London Community Cupboard Toy Room.  Plus every oil change between now and Wednesday, Dec. 6th, Plach will donate $5 towards the purchase of additional toys. 

Now through Thursday, Dec. 8th, First State Bank announced that its Share the Joy Holiday Giving Program is now underway. For decades the bank has worked with community members and local organizations to collect and distribute toys and gifts for families in need. Gifts for toddlers and younger children all the way through teenagers are needed.  Community members who would like to help Share the Joy can stop by First State Bank’s offices in New London, Clintonville, Dale, Manawa, Cecil, or Waupaca to select an ornament from the tree in the lobby. Participants then purchase a gift to fit the needs and / or age of the child listed on the ornament tag and return the gift to First State Bank by December 8th.  First State Bank will be working with local community organizations to distribute the gifts in time for Christmas. On Saturday, Dec. 9th, Mosquito Hill Nature Center is holding Holiday Make It & Take It at 9 – 11 a.m. or 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.  You won’t want your kids to miss this one! They’ll make 8 unique gifts and wrap them with the assistance of our volunteer team. Voila! Your children’s holiday shopping is done. This event is most appropriate for 4 – 12 year olds. On Wednesday, Dec. 13th, Mosquito Hill Nature Center will be holding a Fox Valley Memory Café from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m.  The Fox Valley Memory Cafés welcome those experiencing early stage dementia, mild memory loss or cognitive impairment, as well as family and friends of those affected. It’s a great opportunity for lively discussions, information gathering, refreshments, and lots of creative fun thrown in. This event is free for all and there will be a variety of live animals, with hot chocolate and Christmas cookies being served indoors. On Saturday Mar. 17th, the Shamrock Club of New Dublin will host the St. Patrick’s Day Grand Parade at 1p.m.in downtown New Dublin.  Wisconsin’s largest St. Patrick’s Day parade includes an extensive lineup of bagpipe and marching bands, festive clowns, specialty units, clans, business floats and more – up to 125 units or more.  Prizes are awarded for the best entries.  View the Parade Route.  New Dublin Irish Fest will be held downtown under a huge heated tent by Festival Foods from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. and will feature the following entertainment: Sheamus Fitzpatrick and the McNally Boys from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Reilly from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.  In addition, there will be Irish food, beverages, and market booths.  Entrance to Irish Fest is $5.00 for the day.

On Wednesday, Apr. 18th, the New London Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting their monthly Business Briefing / networking session at 8 a.m. in the chapel at St. Joseph Residence (Please Park on Road).  Join the Chamber for this exciting networking opportunity open to all Chamber members.  These sessions are held the third Wednesday of each month and the Chamber provides the drinks and snacks for each session.  Come and learn about what’s happening with the Chamber and each other.  Each of you will be given the opportunity to introduce yourself and your business and share something about your business that you want others to know.  Use this opportunity to promote yourself and educate yourself with the offerings of other Chamber members.  A monthly reminder e-mail will be sent out to everyone on our e-mail distribution lists on Monday the week of the sessions.  If you are not on our e-mail listing and would like to be added let us know.  We hope you can join us!  If you have any questions, please call the Chamber at (920) 982-5822.

On Wednesday, Apr. 18th, the New London Public Library will hold Babygarten from 11 – 11:30 a.m.  Babygarten has lively, interactive stories, songs and activities for creepers, crawlers, walkers and talkers that will encourage early language and literacy development. This program is designed for children ages birth to 2 years with a participating adult.  For additional information call the library at (920) 982-8519.

Parents are welcome anytime to observe, participate or even be a helper. An Awana club meeting typically consists of three parts; games, memorization / study of bible verses, and a counsel time.
